My first reaction was: raw, visceral and intriguing. Then I looked up "visceral" - "felt in or as if in the internal organs of the body" and also "non-intellectual, instinctive, unreasoning". So I guess that means "immediate" or "having immediate gut reaction impact" which is weird because I'm sure you put a lot of thought into the why and wherefore of this painting. I'm totally intrigued by the reasoning/non-reasoning dichotomy. Or is that just me the viewer? Your paintings have great integrity and taunt the viewer to go beyond the simply "love this" "this is beautiful" response. If anyone's an artist Ambera, you are.

Hi Ambera, you have now mailed me to say it is not yourself but a friend who is planning the trip (I didn't read properly) so please pass my best wishes on to her. I have just been looking yet again at these fascinating charcoal works of yours. I think you are one of the most honest artists working out there today. There is no compromise in it. You're kind of able to represent your true intuitive perceptions absolutely and without hesitation - or so it seems to me.

Ambera, not sure if you have left already but I want to wish you an inspiring and motivating journey through Egypt. The notion of the inseparableness of life and art is so important, especially today. Your recent figurative charcoal work is totally inspiring to me. Thank you for sharing that. All the best and safe travelling.
