Here’s a great review in Sunday’s Chronicle Herald about Uncanny Valley

“He felt his body divide itself into a hotness and a coldness, a softness and a hardness, a trembling and a not trembling, the two halves grinding one upon the other.”
Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451

Kinda pumped that Frank Ocean put this on his tumblr page. Thanks buddy!
Visual Arts Nova Scotia has put together a group exhibit entitled “I Spy.” Here’s their blurb about the show: ”Investigating the pervasiveness of social media and digital espionage, I Spy explores how digital culture has complicated notions of privacy, voyeurism, trust and the proprietorship of images.”
My untitled painting (below) is included, and will likely be among some very interesting pieces with similar threads of conversation. The exhibit is included as part of this year’s Photopolis, Halifax’s Festival of Photography. The dates and the location for the show are:
Corridor Gallery
1113 Marginal Road
Halifax, NS
October 3rd – 31st, 2011 Hope you can make it out!

I’ve been selected as the regional winner of BMO’s 1st Art award, which honours newly graduated art students in Canada.
The untitled painting will be exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art in Toronto this October.
