Water Baby
Last Christmas when we went to visit Oliver’s family in Europe, his mom showed me all kinds of pictures of Oliver as a baby. There were some hilarious ones, where he had bows and ribbons in his hair, holding flowers…But when he was young, he had an unusually large head, it was disproportionate to his body. His mom confessed to me she thought he was a “water baby.” I don’t know exactly what a water baby is, it sounds pretty serious, but I roared. I almost died laughing. Oliver has a nice normal sized head now. I did this drawing of him a couple years ago, and his head looks ill-proportioned, and it makes me laugh thinking of his mom’s story.
